Egypt Isn't As Big As It Seems

Hey Everyone!

This week has gone by super quick!

This week we didnt spend very much time in our area. We had splits
with the zone leaders, multi-zone conference, and stake conference. I
spent a lot of time in buses going back and forth from Tela and
Progreso.

On Tuesday we went to Progreso to do divisions with the zone leaders.
I was with Elder Ponce for the day. Elder Ponce is from Honduras. He
was reassigned to this mission after the political collapse in
Nicaragua. He been out for about 19 months. I had a good time on
divisions with him. We had a really busy day with a lot of walking.
When we got to dinner around 8 o clock we were both starving. At
dinner it was just a little bit of food and I was still hungry
afterwards. While we were washing the dirty dishes after dinner Elder
Ponce whispered in my ear "Lets go get pizza." I was so happy to hear
those words. So we ran to get pizza from Little Ceasars before going
home.

On Wednesday we had a "Mission Tour" with Elder Cordón from Guatemala
from the Seventy. He is part of the Area Presidency here in Central
America. He gave a great training talk. I love hearing the general
authorities they are great speakers. They are very motivating. After
the Mission Tour there was a smaller leaders conference with him and
that was a little different haha. Although he gave it hard he gave
lots of good tips in motivating and having a good "mission culture."

On Saturday and Sunday we had Stake Conference in Progreso. On
Saturday we left Tela around 4 and got back around 9:30. On Sunday we
left at 8 and got back at 2. The conference was good. I think it
touched a lot subjects that a lot of the members of Progreso needed to
hear.

I am gonna rob my spiritual experience this week from Elder Cordón. He
told us about Moses calling to take Israel out of bondage and lead
them out of Egypt. Which, considering Egypt's position as a world
power at that time, is not an easy task. Egypt was the world leader in
military, agriculture, science, construction, and just about
everything else. Moses was supposed to take down the worlds strongest
nation. He didn't even get an army or even a sword. He got a stick.
But in the Book of Moses we learn a little how God motivated Moses to
take down Egypt.

He said "And, behold, thou art my son; wherefore look, and I will show
thee the workmanship of mine hands; but not all, for my works are
without end, and also my words, for they never cease.  And it came to
pass, as the voice was still speaking, Moses cast his eyes and beheld
the earth, yea, even all of it; and there was not a particle of it
which he did not behold, discerning it by the Spirit of God. And he
beheld also the inhabitants thereof, and there was not a soul which he
beheld not; and he discerned them by the Spirit of God; and their
numbers were great, even numberless as the sand upon the sea shore. And
he beheld many lands; and each land was called earth, and there were
inhabitants on the face thereof."

Moses saw every world and every person on every world created by God.
I imagine that after seeing all of God's creations, Egypt didn't look
as big as it seems. Egypt isn't as big as it seems. This helped me
through my entire week while we were contacting, putting baptismal
dates, traveling to and from Progreso. My challenges aren't as big as
they seem. It helped me put things in perspective.

Anyways, that was my week. Hope you all have a great one like I did!

Love you all!
Elder Gessell
