Repent ye Takamicheros!

Hey everyone!

It has been a great couple of weeks here in San Juan.

I have been good. The weather is normal here right now. Hot and humid.
I have been healthy lately the work has been good. Elder Lopez and I
are working well together. He is happy because a package from his
family in Peru should get here in a couple days. Hopefully I will get
to try a few snacks from Peru.

Right now we are working hard with the ward in a specific part of our
area. The Elder´s quorom is working with us to do Family Home Evenings
every week in Takamiche, the poorest part of our area where there are
a bunch of less active members. The stake wants to make a small
extension in that area because it is hard for the members from
Takamiche to go to the San Juan neighborhood due to some gang
conflicts. So it has been nice meeting all the inactive members in the
area. It feels like some kind of treasure hunt as we look for them. We
get to one house share a message and we ask if they know any other
less active members and they almost always give us directions to find
another family. We had the second Family Home Evening on Saturday and
we had a handful of members show up. A few of them even came in the
little group from Takamiche that we walk with to go to church.

A few weeks ago in a zone conference we talked about the importance of
teaching our investigators about repentance. So I really have been
reading a lot about repentance and looking for things to share with
our investigators. I have enjoyed reading about Alma the Younger´s
repentance and conversion. It explains very clearing the things that
need to happen in our repentance process. It doesnt just explain the
repentance of someone like Alma who had seriously sinned but it
explains repentance for even the smallest mistakes. We had some nice
experiences sharing this passage of scripture with some less active
members and investigators. We watched as a few understood that
repentance is something more important and more serious than they
previously thought. Which is exactly what we wanted and what they
needed.

I think this week is going to be last week in the San Juan. I have
been here for about 6 months now so I am thinking next week with
transfer calls I will be going to another area here in Honduras. We
will see next week!

Love you all!
