Back to the Beach!
Hey everyone!
It has been a great last week here in the San Juan. We have been
spending most of the week trying to invite everyone we know to General
Conference especially inactive members.
I really enjoyed conference. I felt that there was a on going theme
about taking upon ourselves Jesus´ name and showing respect for His
name and His life by living as He would. I enjoyed how Elder Paul B.
Pieper explained how important this commitment is. This is something
that missionaries need to explain carefully and help the investigators
understand. The last question on the baptismal interview asks each
baptismal candidiate if they feel willing and ready to take Jesus´
name upon themselves. It is interesting to see what the investigators
think about this commitment and the willingness to commit. Although it
might sound a little overwhelming the blessings are so worth it.
Taking the name of Jesus Christ means being part of His flock. It
means being part of His team. When we take His name upon us He also
takes our names upon Himself. That is what I loved about conference.
It just gave me a great feeling about being a disciple of Jesus Christ
and being part of His church.
Yesterday was transfer calls! My time here in San Juan is up. I have
really enjoyed it here and I have made some great friendships with the
members and others in the area. I had never been so long in an area
and I thought it would be difficult but I honestly have enjoyed it a
ton. Tomorrow I am off to Tela! Tela is a little beach town here in
Honduras so I am going back to the beach! I am honestly happy and
excited to go to the small branch in that area. My new companion is
Elder Pavez from Chile. I dont know him but from what I heard I think
he is relatively new in the mission. But more updates to come next
week.
Thanks again everyone! Love you guys a ton!
