TAKAMICHE

Hola,

Pretty normal week this week here in San Juan.

Right now we are working hard to try to have the last papers to get
Karla and Kevin married. Right now the marriage ceremony is free in
August so we are working hard to get it done this month. There aren´t
anymore appointments left here in San Pedro Sula so they are going to
go to Karla´s pueblo to get married there. Right now we just have to
send Kevin´s birth certificate and parentesco to his birthplace so
that the they can get it stamped and signed or something. Today Karla
is going to take out her last papers and then we can send them to her
pueblo to make the appointment. With luck it can happen this week but
it is more probable that it happens next week. Karla and Kevin have
been working really hard to make this all happen. It has involved a
lot of waiting in lines in government buildings.

On Tuesday we had a multi zone conference with our neighboring zone.
We talked a lot about recieving guidance from the spirit which was
great because I had spent a lot of time studying that the week before.
We talked about how sometimes we dont need to always recognize that we
are being guided by the spirit but just live worthy to recieve His
guidance.

In the zone conferences I really enjoy the lunches they give.
Sometimes give a ton of pizza from pizza hut and sometimes they give a
really good lunch with salad and bread and all that good stuff that we
hardly eat here in Honduras.

Oh, this week we met this sister in one of the poorest neighborhoods
in my area. The name of the area is Takamiche (I have no idea why it
is called that). But it is super poor. All the houses are just made of
tin roofing but not just on the roof. They use the tin roofing for
walls, roofing, fence, and doors. There is also no plumbing so there
is just these little gutters that are dug up on the side of the street
with black water full of trash and sewage running through them. But in
anyways my companion and I were contacting in the morning when we
knocked on a door. We met Alicia Garcia. She got married and was
baptized in the Church about 15 years ago. She was kind of busy when
we found her so she said we could come back on Sunday. So yesterday we
went back and we met her neighbors and her son. We had a good talk
with her son and neighbor that were also baptized a long time ago. I
really enjoyed talking with them with the memories that they had being
young men in the church. They really and some nice memories and seemed
to miss being part of the church. We were able to talk to them and
they seemed open to idea that we come and teach their families.  It
was a nice experience to be able to talk with them so easily and
connect with these guys that we had just met.

Anyways, that is all I got for this week. I hope you have great week.
Have a nice back to school week.

Love you all!
Elder Gessell
