Helloooooo,
Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing great! It has been another good
week here in San Pedro Sula.

First of all I have a new companion! His name is Elder Lopez. He´s
from Lima, Peru. He is 19 years old and has about 6 months in the
mission. We have gotten along really well this week and we have been
working well together also. So far I have found out that he likes
movies, anime, and soccer. The past few days we have talked quite a
bit about the movies we like and actors and stuff like that. I didn´t
realize how much I liked movies and talking about them until I got
here to mission haha.

Our investigators are doing good. This week with Karla and Kevin we
are doing a smaller fundraiser selling empanadas. Right now there is a
protest on the bus tariff so there isnt any public transportation
which means we cant deliver the empanadas to the other missionaries
today. So we had to go a little smaller today. These next few weeks
Elder Lopez and I are going to focus on finding a lot more new
investigators to get a few more progressing investigators in our
schedule.

This week I had a good time contacting people in the street and in
their houses and getting to know them. On Friday night we were
"knocking on doors" and we talked to a middle aged woman and her
mother and asked if we could offer a prayer to bless their home. They
were very hesistant at first. But after some smiling and nodding they
let us in. I could tell they were a little uncomfortable which really
isnt anything abnormal. It is hard because when I know that I am
making other people feel uncomfortable the first thing I want to do is
just tell them "If you guys to want to you dont have to." But we all
know that I cant say that. So we sat down and talked and then we
offered the prayer. After the pray the awkwardness and discomfort went
away. The two sisters were happy and asking us questions and accepted
a return visit. The Spirit joined us and did our job for us. It just
reminded me that even though sometimes we take people (and ourselves)
out of their comfort zone we have to keep inching along. Then we begin
to watch the people take steps they have never taken before and
progess.

Anyways, that is the update for the week. Want to wish my Mom a happy
birthday this Friday. I love you tons Mom! I hope you have a great
birthday and know that I´ll be singing happy birthday for you here in
Honduras.

Elder Gessell
