Legal in Honduras
Hey everyone,
It has been a good hot week here in Honduras. Nothing to out of the ordinary.
On Tuesday we had interviews with Presidente Carlisle. For the
interviews we had to travel to our stake center which is like 25
minutes away in bus. The only thing was that these past few weeks
there have been protests on the bus tariff so we werent sure if there
was going to buses. We were told that the protests didn´t start until
8 so we left our house at 7:30 to get to the interviews. The mototaxi
that we took to get to the bus stop was going really slow so we didnt
get on the bus until like 7:45. I was so worried that we were going to
get stuck in a protest the whole way. But thankfully we got to the
church and President Carlisle was just getting there too. Turns out
that there was no protests that day so everyone got there fine and we
finished the interviews and went back home.
On Tuesday night I got a call from the mission immigration secretary
and he told me that I had to go to downtown San Pedro to renew my
residency here in Honduras. So on Wednesday morning I got to go to the
"Central Park" in San Pedro and eat wendy´s. Then we went to
immigration offices and they took my picture, scanned my fingerprints,
and took my signature so I wouldnt get deported back to the US ahah.
The rest of the week we have been working hard to find new
investigators and picking up a few former investigators. We have been
having a little bit of success. We have a lot of return visits to do
with people we found this week.
With trying to find new investigators I have been trying really hard
to be "guided by the Spirit." It is kind of a weird thing for me. I
have always been contacting and knocking on doors trying to be
onanother plane of living or something haha. Trying to find the
impressions of the Spirit by searching the back of my mind. But
usually I have been a little confused with thoughts like "Was that me
or the Spirit?" "Is this what I want or what the Spirit wants." So
talked about it and read about it with my companion. So what I have
been thinking is that we dont really need to focus on whether it was
"me or the Spirit." We need to focus on recieving the guidance of the
Spirit. Living worthily and desiring the will of the Lord. If we are
doing that then we are promised the guidance of the Spirit. And many
times we dont recognize it. Even if I had success on knocking on one
door I dont need to think whether it was me or the Spirit. Because
most of the time it is the Spirit and we followed it without even
noticing. So now I dont really want to focus on whether it was me or
Him but I want to focus on whether I am worthy and ready for Him to
use me.
Thanks again for all the birthday wishes I love you all so much! I
will enjoy my birthday here in Honduras!
