San Juan
Hey everyone!
I am in San Juan! I got here with Elder Benitez on Tuesday morning. San Juan is actually just like 15 minutes in bus away from Planes so I am still in San Pedro Sula. Basically I am in a suburb of San Pedro called El Carmen. The weather here is the same. Blazing hot. This area actually reminds me a lot of Lempira because it is on a mountain. So I am going to be climbing and going down mountains again. Yay! The area is a little bit more poor than Planes. Lots of houses with tin roofs and walls. We share the ward with another companionship and we do things together like eat lunch and stuff. It is always better when there are other Elders close by. Here there are also mototaxis again. I love mototaxis. They are fast, cheap, and I don't know why but I just feel cool when we ride in them. Our house is pretty nice. We have an air conditioning thingy again (yesssss) but the light bill comes out really expensive so we just use it for about an hour before going to bed. Those are all the details that I can think of right now. If you have questions about my area feel free to ask haha.
We have a decent amount of investigators here. We are teaching a young couple. Kevin and Karla are 22 years old and have 2 kids. Recently the missionaries knocked on their door and began teaching them. They are pretty great investigators. We have taught them both the message of the Restoration and they have recieved it really well. The most important part of The Restoration is that the investigators pray about it. I love hearing about how investigators recieve their testimony. Karla made an interesting comment the other day. She said that she loved that we ask them to pray. She said that not any other church does that. She said that the pastors just preach and they have to believe their own words. They don't have to believe us. They just need to pray. It is so perfect. Karla and Kevin recieved their answer and have both commited to get married and be baptized.
That is just a glimpse of my area for now. More info on other investigators coming on a weekly basis.
Love you all!
Elder Gessell
