Jumping Fences
This week was pretty great!
Well it didn´t start out too great. On Monday we had a normal Pday planned which included playing soccer the entire afternoon. Well while we were playing the ball went over the fence that surrounds the church. And instead of walking all the way around I decided to just climb over the fence. Which I had done a bunch of times before. As I was climbing down onto the other I felt that I banged my arm on the fence. Once I got down and threw the ball back over the fence I realized that my arm was bleeding. Then I realized that I had a little hole in my arm. One of the little spiky things on top of the fence had gone into my arm and made a little hole. Don´t freak out it wasn´t that serious. But I did go to the hospital on Tuesday and they cleaned it out and decided that I wouldn´t need stitches. The doctor prescribed me some anti-biotics and gave me a shot in the butt (yay) and sent me on my way. I have learned my lesson not to jump fences in Honduras.
The other big thing this week is that Ellio decided to get baptized. He will be baptized this coming Saturday. We had been working with him a lot to help him make a decision. Ellio always new he needed to be baptized. I think he just wasn´t convinced about church one hundred percent. It´s not that he didn´t think the church was true but I think he was just concerned about the difference between the church and his former church. He always expressed that he wanted to hear an old fashioned sermon straight from the bible like his pastor did. Or a good ol´praise dance. We tried explaining why we didn´t have things like that but he didn´t seem convinced. Then we decided that none of that really mattered and we started to focus on WHY he needed to be baptized. Once he understood that the church had the authority he realized and we realized that none of the other things matter. He needed to be baptized with God´s authority. There is no exception. So we scheduled to have his baptismal interview and during that interview he finally commited to be baptized.
That is mostly it for this week. Pictures of Ellios baptism coming up.
