Baptism and Splits
This week went by super fast. It is crazy that next week are already transfers. This transfer has gone by fast.
I think it went by fast because I was hardly in my area this week. I spent a lot of time on companion exchanges with the zone leaders and other missionaries in our district. Busy with house inspections and baptismal interviews. I always enjoy going on splits with other missionaries and getting to know them a little better.
The big thing this week was Elio´s baptism. We visited him almost everyday this week to prepare him and make him feel good about his baptism. Honestly I could sense he was feeling a little nervous but by the end of the week he was feeling much more confident. His baptism was a great spiritual experience. His wife and kids who are already members were so proud of him. Everyone seemed to be happy and proud that Elio had finally made the decision after so many years. There is nothing more satisfying.
I have been listening to the conference talks again in the morning while we get ready. After listening to conference over and over again I realize that almost all the talks are my favorite. The prophetic words are just so motivating and uplifting. But most of all I think I enjoy Dieter F. Uchtdorf´s talk "Behold the Man." I love how he explained that there are many people that recognize Jesus Christ as an important figure. There are even people that believe him to be God´s Son. But many people don´t really "behold" Him as he really is. That is something that I love this church. I feel like we see Him as he really is. I have talked to a lot of people here in Honduras. People that only see Jesus as this distant Supreme Being that is out of our reach. Which is true. He is supreme and all powerful and our God. But He is also our loving Savior and Redeemer. "therefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure." (Moroni 7:48) I am so grateful that we can see Him as he really is.
Next week are transfer calls and once again I´m in the dark. I have no idea whether I am leaving or staying. We will see next week!
Love you all!
