Now This Is The Commandment
Another week. The heat is coming back. I´m not sure if I already
complained about it last week but I am going to do it again. It didn´t
rain all week and it has been pure sun. Walking to a from visits in the
afternoon is painful. We try and to stick to whatever shade their is in
the street to try and stay a little cooler.
Also in
my area there is a ton of dust. When it hasn´t rained for it week there
is dust everyone. It basically feels like we are in the desert haha. We
have been getting home and shaking all the dust from our shoes, pants,
and socks.
This week they are going to announce
transfers. This is my third time where it could be me or my companion
who leaves and we don´t know. I imagine that I am going to be the one
that stays because I have never been the one that stays. Or I could go.
You never know. We will see next week.
I enjoy
my district in this area. I have really cool district and I have gotten
to know every missionary pretty well. I enjoy going to district meetings
and doing divisions with the other missionaries.
Last
week I think I found another one of my favorite scriptures. In 3 Nephi
27:20, "Now this is the commandment: Repent, all ye ends of the earth,
and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified
by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me
at the last day." I love it because last week we were trying to figure
out how to help Maitte decide to be baptized. She was attending church,
reading the Book of Mormon, and even going to seminary but she still
felt hesitant about baptism. So we read this scripture with her and
Dunia. The spirit basically opened up everyone's eyes to the plain truth
explained in this verse. Dunia and Maitte commented on how they didn´t
fully understand that "Be Baptized" is a commandment just as "Thou Shall
Not Kill" is a commandment. They also understood that it is necessary
so that we can be clean at the last day. A few days after that lesson
Maitte and her sister were baptized. Now I am so grateful for the plainness of that scripture and for the spirit we felt as we read and
pondered it.
I know I kind of jumped around today with thoughts and stuff haha. Hope you enjoyed. Love you all!
