Elder Zeballos in Honduras

This week has been a little long.

We have been trying to find some new investigators and haven´t been having much luck. Lots of knocking on doors and getting ignored. But this week we have planned to go to other neighborhoods where the missionaries haven´t worked to much. I am looking forward to that.

On Thursday we had a multizone conference with Elder Zeballos from the quorum of the seventy. There were like 5  zones in the conference so I got to see some Elders that I haven't seen in a while. Elder Zeballos is a pretty cool guy. He is a convert to the church and he is from Chile. He shared a cool story about how when he was called to be a seventy the missionary that baptized him was at the conference and was called as a mission president. So now everyone in the mission wants to baptize the next general authority.

Also for that meeting I put on my suit for the first time since the MTC. And it was a little tight. haha. I had to be careful not to sit down to quickly so I wouldn´t rip anything haha. Too many baleadas.

The investigator of the week this week is a guy named Ellio.  He has been an investigator for a long time in this area. His wife is a member of the church but inactive and they are married legally. When they got married the plan was that he was going to get baptized but it didn't happen because he didn't want to leave his church. But we have recently been visiting with him and he is showing some progress. Last week he went to church completely by himself. He is reading parts of the Book of Mormon and he is showing interest. He is a really a cool guy and I enjoy talking to him. He likes talking to us about the many Honduras accents in the different parts.

Anyways, that is mostly it from my end for this week. I am healthy, safe, and happy. I love talking to new people everyday. I remember at the beginning of my mission I always had to put my best happy face on when we were knocking doors and talking to people. But these past few days I have noticed how much easier it has become to have
positive uplifting conversations with strangers. So thankful for that!

Love,
Elder Gessell
