Extra Long Week

This week felt extra long!

Things have been calming down for the most part here in Honduras. We have been able to leave the house this week but we have been coming home early due to the curfew. I think that is why this week has felt kind of long. There still is no President. We have put together 72 hour kits for whatever. Supposedly they are going to announce a president sometime this week so we are supposed to be on alert for that. Transfers are this next monday. The curfew is supposed to end today and has been at 8 o clock the past few days.

We are getting pretty close to Chirstmas and it sort of has snuck up on me. Partly because it still is like 80 degrees outside and partly because Christmas is way different here. A lot less talk about Santa and giving gifts and more talk about which fireworks we are gonna blow up and how many tamales we are going to make.
On Saturday we went to chop someones field in the morning. It was for a lady named Maria who we contacted about a week ago. She asked us if we could help her cut a "small" field where she wants to plant corn. We got there and it was not a small field. We spent about the entire morning chopping down old stalks of corn with our machetes. I have actually gotten pretty good with the machete from all the service projects we do. Unfortunately that skill probably won´t be of much use after my mission haha.
Hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas season and thanks as always for all the love and support.
Love,
Elder Gessell
