This week was so fast! I barely remember all that we did.
As far as the missionary work is coming along, we are starting to make a head way. After starting with basically nothing when we got here we now have a good amount of work coming up. Our baptism coming this week is looking pretty good. Iriaco seems to be pretty excited. We have been working with him to help him stop smoking. We are hoping and praying that he continues doing as good as has been doing.
This last week we found a family that lives next door to the church. They have absolutely nothing. Not even a bed. This lady Domicila and her son Cristian. We met them and they have been very receptive. They both have showed how they want to go to church and take the Sacrament. We were talking to Domicila and getting to know her and we found out that she used to live in the same neighborhood that I lived in in Ceiba! It was an awesome mini miracle to be able to relate to her as she explained growing up in Ceiba. It reminded me that God really does put prepared people in our path.
This week we also had a clothing donation thingy at the church. We invited a ton of people to come take clothes and toys and stuff for free at the church. About 200 people showed up ready for their clothes. When they opened the doors to all the clothes it was like Black
Friday. All of the clothes were gone in about 10 minutes. It was a little hectic but Elder Lima and I were able to take down a bunch of phone numbers and addresses to visit people.
Yesterday we showed up at Mario and Rositas house to read the Book of Mormon. When we got there we saw just a bucket of meat on the table and Rosita was busy cutting up some ribs. It took me about 5 seconds to realize that that bucket of meat was Lucero. RIP Lucero.
In my scripture study I have been reading a lot about being Holy and Holiness. I was reading some of the Old Testament and I saw how much the Jews did to be a Holy people. They wrote hundreds and hundreds of commandments to be Holy. In Leviticus
11:44 it says "
For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy." It had made me think about being more Holy. Now when I say that I am not talking about becoming a Pharisee or any of that. But I am talking about having Holy experiences. The opposite of Holy is profane or worldy. I am talking about trying to be less and less of the world and being more and more of the kingdom of Heaven.
Thanks again everyone for all the love and support. I love you all!
