Well this was a very interesting week.
First of all the weather has been crazy! At the beginning of the week it rained soooo much. It rained for like 3 days straight! Thankfully we had a zone conference on the day that it rained the most so we were indoors almost all day. So basically the whole day
on Wednesday we werent in our area because of the zone conference. We left at like 6 in the morning to get to Progreso for the meeting. It rained the entire time while we were in Progreso. We got back to Morazan at like 7 later that day. We did a few visits in the pooring rain and we picked up dinner and we came home. When we got home we found the pleasant surprize that our house had flooded! We were so confused on how the water was getting in the house and we looked around the house and saw that our bathroom sink was gone! The sink was gone but the pipes from the sink were spilling water. So we figured that it hadnt been the rain that flooded the house but it was actually just the missing sink. So we were like "who stole our sink!?" So we called the owner of the house and said "hey, two things, our house is flooded, and someone stole our sink." Well turns out that the owner has a key to the house and he just showed up at our house while we were gone and took the sink and said that he wanted to change it. It was just crazy. So we sealed the pipes that were leaking and we started sweeping the water out of our house with a broom. It was quite the night!
We also had a big success in the work in Morazan. So we have been visiting with a family that has been visiting with the missionaries for a while. It is a family of 4 and have been to the church a few times. We visited with them this week and read to them 2 Nephi 31 which talks a lot about baptism. We asked them how they felt knowing that Jesus showed us the example to be baptized. It was awesome when the dad told us "Well, it is pretty clear, we need to get baptized." It must have looked a little strange when Elder Lima and I both just looked at each other with huge smiles haha. So we put dates and everthing to begin taking out there papers to get married. It was awesome. I dont really know what did it. It was just a miracle.
This week in our zone conference President Carlisle shared a scripture that has made me think a lot. In D&C 84:77 it says
"And again I say unto you, my friends, for from henceforth I shall call you friends, it is expedient that I give unto you this commandment, that ye become even as my friends in days when I was with them, traveling to preach the gospel in my power;" He explained it that God is sort of commanding us to be His friend. It was something new to me. I had always thought of God as my Heavenly Father, The Creator, The most powerful being in the universe and all that. But, never had really thought of how He and I can be friends. Friends dont do things for each other just becasue they are obligated, or forced to do it. Friends dont reluctantly ask for forgiveness. A friend is sincere and willing. It made me want to be a better friend to God.
Lastly, Happy Birthday to my Dad tomorrow. I love you Dad! Thanks for being an awesome example! Happy Birthday!
