Morazan! Palermo! Progreso!

Helllooooo

Well first of all, as I began writing this email Elder Gardner and I started hearing this really loud white noise coming from outside. We went outside and saw that it was pouring rain..... I cant believe how hard it is raining haha. Looks like were gonna swim home.

It has been a long week. We have been preparing a bunch of people for baptism these past few weeks. First we have Lily. She is ready to be baptized and ready to get married. On Friday is the marrige and later that day she is getting baptized. Finally hahah! Then we have Fermina. Fermina is a 60 or 70 year old woman who is super poor. They cook over a wood fire and their house is made of just wood and tin roof sheets. She has little to no education but she loves having us over. But when we contacted her we found out that she was legally married with her husband we were so happy haha! Anyways she is getting ready to get baptized on Saturday after conference. Then we have Jimmy. Jimmy is ready to be baptized on Saturday also. Then we have Paola. The only problem with Paola is that we still do not have permission from her mom to baptize her. Her mom is very difficult to work with. Most of the time we are there she wont leave her room. But this week we did have a short visit with her. She explained that she would not let us baptize her and all that. So we read a few scriptures with her and came to James 1:5. We asked her to pray and ask God if she should let her daughter be baptized. Unfortunately when we came back the next day for our scheduled visit she left to do some errands right when we got there. As she left I asked her if she had prayed. So said she hadn´t and then she left. Ugh.. It was rough. But the great thing is that Paola continues with faith and says that one day her mom will understand.

Anyways! I am leaving La Ceiba! It took about 8 months but now I am going an area called Morazan! My new companion will be Elder Lima from Guatemala. Honestly I dont know much about the area. But here is what I do know. It is a branch that is on the outside of Progreso. Aparently the nearest missionaries are an hour bus ride to Progreso. So it does sound like I will be a little isolated but on the bright side my house has AIR CONDITIONING!!!!! Now I dont have to sweat while I am doing my personal study hahah!

The only thing is that I will not be in Ceiba to see all the investigators get baptized. It does make me a little sad because I worked really hard to see these people get baptized. But the important thing is that they are getting baptized. Although I wont be able to see the baptism I can still rejoice when they are baptized. Now I get to start working with the people in Morazan!

Thanks again everyone for the support. Love you all! I am way looking forward to General Conference and I cant wait to share all about my favorites.

Love
Elder Gessell
