Long Week and Fish Soup

This week we have been really working on getting one of our investigators married. We spent a good morning walking around downtown taking out papers and waiting around in government buildings. Thankfully we were able to take out all the papers for the husband, Cristian who is a member. The only thing that we needed was for Lily our investigator to go to Tela which is about a 2 hour drive to take out one paper. Here a 2 hour drive is a pretty big deal especially for a family with very little money and only a motorcycle to get around. Luckily we were able to get help from a member to go with her. The only problem that could have happened is if they weren't able to take the papers out that same day. Because sometimes its like that haha. They just tell you to come in 10 days to take out the paper and I am never really sure why. Thankfully they got lucky and they made a friend at the registry and they were able to take them out. Now their wedding is basically planned for the 29th and her baptism will be the 30th. YES!

This week we had an interesting lunch. Fish soup. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy eating fish. But what I don't really enjoy is trying to pick the bones out of the fish while it is in a soup! I have eaten just plain fish here and it is already hard to eat without accidentally eating a bone. But putting it in soup makes it 5 times harder! I was sitting there and with every single bite that I took I would be searching in my mouth for any hidden bones for like 5 minutes. But I finished it and I am pretty sure I only ate one or two bones.

Also this week we have been teaching a relatively new investigator. His name is Jimmy and he recently moved in with a member family in our ward. He showed up to church one day and we made a visit with him and everything is going great. He has been reading the Book of Mormon and he seems to love it. We invited him to baptism and he has his baptism scheduled for the 23rd of this month. He is very happy. He keeps telling us how he feels like he is in the right place and is ready to be baptized. Oh! He is also a Honduras Regatonee star haha. He had a little duo called Corazones Urbanos and he did a few concerts and stuff like that. So basically I am teaching like a celebrity no biggie.

Changes are in about 2 weeks and I am wondering if I am going to get changed out of this area. I have really become good friends with a lot of the members here and a lot of our investigators. We will just have to wait and see.

Anyways! Love you all! I hope you are all doing amazing.

Our study area- Matthew's must be the right side with the goldfish box. :)

Our shower: I am guessing they use the big trash can filled with water to shower with.

Matthew sleeps on the top bunk

I don't see a stove or oven here. Notice the clothes line. This is one of the nicer houses in Honduras.
