New Companions?

Hey everyone!

It feels like I havent written for like 2 weeks haha. I have had a few interesting days this week haha.

On Monday it was the last pday for a lot of people and a lot of people were leaving Ceiba including Elder Reyes. So we had a pday with the 2 zones in La Ceiba with tacos, soda and soccer. Things like that are always fun. Then after the pday it was time to take Elder Reyes to the bus on the way to San Pedro.

While Elder Reyes was gone I was without a companion so I stuck with the zone leaders for the day of transfers. On Tuesday morning we went to drop off all the gringos that are going home. So there I was sitting at the bus stop talking to all the gringos about how their mission went haha. ¡Trunky! hahah.

On Wednesday, I met up with my new companion! My new companion is Elder Martinez from Ecuador. Yes. That Elder Martinez from Ecuador haha. Yep. Elder Martinez is in Lempira with me for his last transfer. It was kind of a weird transfer but it is nice that I already know my companion haha.

On Thursday we got to work and I started showing Martinez the work. The investigator of the week is Ofelia Barahona. Ofelia is a 27 year old woman whose whole family are members except for her. The only reason that she hasn't been baptized is because she won't wake up for church aha. So this past few weeks we have calling her and visiting her so that she can get up for church. This sunday was her 3rd attendance. Her baptism is planned for the 22nd of this month. It has been really nice teaching her with her whole family there to help her understand.

We have been talking to Francis a lot because she is a little confused because of what her parents have been telling her. She told us that it was making her sad and confused. I instantly remembered something in a book that I read that spoke exactly about this kind of situation. In 2 Timothy 1:7 it says, " For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." I asked her how she had felt during our discussions and then asked her how she had felt during the discussions with her parents. This seemed to make her feel a little better. By the way the book I got this response from is called "Member Missionary Work and Finding the Elect of God"  by Scott Marshall. I really reccomend this book for anyone in the mission field or planning on being in the field.

Anyways! That is mostly it for this week. Still no one can pronounce my name, the sun is still really hot and I still eat 10 eggs a day so all is normal in Honduras.

Oh also! Happy Birthday this week to Madi! Madi I love you and I hope that you have an awesome week! Keep up all the good work with school, plays, and everthing else! I love you Madi!
