6 months
Hello from Honduras!
Well another week has gone by and well not to much has happened. Tomorrow is when I complete 6 months in my mission. Has it gone by fast? Looking back it doesnt feel like that long ago when I was leaving the MTC but there are also times when time seems to stop haha.
This week we have been doing good. Elder Martinez is still getting used to going up and down the mountains here but he is a good sport about it haha. The past few days have been really hot which makes the mountains even more enjoyable.
This past week we have been teaching an investigator named Michel (pronounced Michelle). We have been teaching the restoration to her and she has been recieving it pretty well. While we were teaching about the Book of Mormon her sister in law decided to join in on the lesson. Turns out her sister in law was ready with a slew of questions! She started to ask all these different questions looking for a flaw or something negative in the church. And guess what. She didnt find one! We answered every question very calmy and thoroughly. By the time we finished the lesson about an hour had gone by and she was willing to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it along with Michelle. I was so happy as we left that lesson.
This week I have had an addiction to a fruit that isnt in the US. They are called mamones. They are small little fruits about the size of a quarter and have an outer shell. When you eat them you just bite of the shell and suck on the seed that is inside and then spit out the seed. They are sooooo good! They are little little candies and are so cheap. I eat a little bag of them everyday haha.
Yesterday when we got home for a day our house smelled horrible. It smelled like something had died so we started looking for what had died in our house. It wasnt long before we found a dead mouse in the back of one of our closets. Elder Martinez refused to get close to it so I was left to scoop up its corpse with a dust pan. It was foul. Just foul. I nearly threw up before we threw the mouse off our balcony so that a dog could eat it during the night. Never again.
Thats mostly it for this week. This week we are going to have the baptism for Ofelia. Everything should go smoothly. She really seems to be excited to be baptized.
Oh and also the other day I was thinking about how missionaries are kind of like Jedi. Well the closest thing to a Jedi that we have haha.
Thanks!
