SEMANA SANTA

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Easter week in Honduras is called Semana Santa or "Holy Week" and it is a little different. There isnt any Easter bunny or Easter eggs or any little delicious chocolate eggs. I miss those chocolate eggs haha. But dont be fooled that just because it is called "Holy Week" that it means everyone is in their church worshiping. Cuz theyre not. It is mostly the same as "spring break" in the States. Everyone is at the beach and partying and no one is home. This made proselyting a little difficult this week since everything was closed and no one was home.

And since no one was home some people take advantage of that...

This week on Thursday our entire upper floor of our apartment complex was robbed. Including us. We had just come home from a late dinner appointment and were tired and hot. When we got to our house something was a little different. The towel we keep draped over our door was on the floor and our books we scattered out on the tables. We quickly realized that we had been robbed. So we looked around to see what had been stolen. The strange thing was that they had only taken money! Our cameras were in plain sight and we have a DVD player used to watch my training videos and it was all still there. They only took about 2000 Lempiras which is about 80 bucks in the US. The other thing is that we were holding on to some money that we were going to give to an investigator to do a bbq to gain money for them to get married. It was still there. I keep my money hidden inside my many books of scripture and the thieves had taken all the money inside them except out of one book. CRAZY! The 20 bucks that we needed to get one of our investigators married and BAPTIZED was still there. God works in mysterious ways haha.

Other than that not much else happened. Today we had a relaxing Pday and just played cards with other missionaries in the district. It was nice to just relax for a while. Thanks again everyone for the emails. They mean so much to me.

Love you all!
