Heat Wave and Conference

Hey everyone!

Well, apparently we had a heat wave in La Ceiba this week haha! A heat wave! I thought we were already in a heat wave haha. So it was kind of a long week haha. Me and Martinez trudged along in the heat and sweat all day long. At the end of the day we would get home and ring out clothes from sweat and sit face to face with our fans for about 15 minutes hah!

But despite the heat it has been a good week. I spent a lot of time in a different area because Elder Martinez had to travel to San Pedro Sula to gain his residency. So I was with Elder Ericksen from Utah for about 4 days of this week. His area is called Lempira and it is way different from our area. It is only about a 20 minute walk from La Ceiba but is drastically different. The homes are much more humble and the people are very receptive. It was nice to go contacting in that area because it is a little easier than our area where the people are a little richer.

Also conference was great this weekend! I got to watch it in English with Elder Ericksen in an air conditioned secretaries office so it was very comfortable. I think one of my favorite talks was from Elder Holland. I loved the analogy between the choir and the church. He spoke of how anyone can be in the "choir." It reminded me of how the church is suited for everyone. It was a good message that brought hope.
