ABEJAS

Hey Everyone!

Second week out in the field! It was kind of a tough week but full of good stories haha!

So on Tuesday we got attacked by a swarm of bees! Hahah. Of all the things I was a little worried about in Honduras bees was not one of them haha. We were walking back from an appointment kinda out in the jungle. We were walking back to the main road and I thought I saw a fly buzzing by my head so I swatted at it. Then another fly came. Then another. Then I realized that I was getting stung by bees. Eventually me and Elder Martinez were running away from about 30 bees. We split up a bit and fortunately and unfortunate for Martinez was that most of the bees followed him. So I took out my trusty bug spray and sprayed all over myself and ran over to Martinez. After all the bees had gone and we were covered in bug spray we sat on the ground and counted our stings. I only had about 7 stings but Martinez had a bunch and he told me that he had an allergy so we called a taxi and went to the hospital. After about an hour and a few shots we were feeling ok. We went home and rested for the rest of the day because Elder Martinez was tired from the medication.

On Friday we had a service project. Our zone was helping clear out an area and laying dirt behind a school so the kids could play soccer. It was really hot and hard work but it was fun to be around the other guys in my zone.

On Saturday I was feeling really sick. I woke up with a slight head ache but I thought I was fine to go out for visits. After one visit I felt terrible. We came home and checked my temperature and I had a low fever so I took a short nap. When I woke up I felt even worse! I checked my temperature again and I had a fever of 102! So we called the nurse and took some Ibuprofen which seemed to help. We spent the rest of that day resting and I felt a little better on Sunday but we still took things pretty easy.

Today I was feeling a lot better so we went to the docks on the beach. It was super awesome to be out there by the ocean. I really am blessed to have the ocean by my area.

Everyday I am learning something new about Honduras and how to teach the Gospel. It really is awesome out here! Thanks again everyone for all your emails. Love you all and Miss you!

Mom,
I´ll try to answer a few of your questions. We live 4 hours away from the mission home. We have a woman who cooks us lunches which is nice. We usually eat baleadas and fried plantains. She did our laundry last week but it was really expensive so we are trying to find someone else to do it. Our house doesn't have air conditioning other than 2 electric fans. But it doesn't get to hot as long you use the fans. Our shower doesn't have a shower head so it is just cold water that comes out of a hole in the wall haha. We get to eat at a members house at about 4 or 5 times a week so it is nice. Your package is here. I am going to get it at the zone meeting this week. For pday last week we played soccer and ate at burger king. For this pday we went to the ocean and went to another burger place.
