Week 3 at the MTC

Hey everyone!

Thanks again for all the emails! I love hearing about all your awesome lives haha! I guess I never realized how much an email meant to missionaries until I am one. haha

Most everything is the same at the MTC. The food is great I am making some great friends and I am growing my knowledge of Spanish and of the Gospel. It was my first fast Sunday on my Mission just last Sunday. And like many of the Elders here this was our first REAL fast haha! The kitchen was closed and we went from 6pm on Saturday to about 5:30 on Sunday. Its safe to say that was a nice humbling experience here at the MTC haha.

Me and my comp Elder Darling are getting along super great! We are always trying to be obedient word for word and are always trying to speak spanish to each other. It really helps to have such a diligent and devoted companion. Also I have made some great friends here at the MTC. They are super cool dudes!

Yesterday was the last day for all the Latinos and the older group of North Americans. We exchanged a lot of emails and took a lot of pictures. Its funny how close you can get to people in just a few short weeks. So now the next group of Latinos and North Americans get here tomorrow. I am excited to meet them all and see where they are all going. Right now I only know of 2 other Elders going to my mission but Im sure there will be more in the next group. But ya I guess you could say that my District is sort of the top dog here now. We practically own the place now hahaha. Not really but its still exciting to see the new group of guys come in and see how we were 3 weeks ago.

Today was a pretty awesome day. At 3 weeks they send the Elders out so they can clean the MTC for the next group so we got to go on a little tour. We went to the Zoo and saw some pretty cool animals but nothing to out of the ordinary for a zoo. Then we went to a small mercado which has touristy type stuff. I bought a cool poncho that is really warm. Im not sure why I bought it because it is always burning hot outside; but it looks pretty cool. Then we went to Wendys.... It was glorious. I bought a large Baconater meal with a large frosty and it was so good! Then I decided I wanted some chicken nuggets and got 10 of those. I was stuffed and satisfied by the end of the meal.

Anway, thanks again for all the love and support! Keep sending emails! I love them!

Love,
Elder Gessell
